Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 large onions, cut in slices about 2-inch thick
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon finely ground black pepper (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup Bourbon
Directions:
- Combine oil and butter in a heavy saucepan.
- Heat together over high heat until butter is melted.
- Add onions and cook for about 2 minutes.
- Add salt, pepper, and broth.
- Cover, reduce heat, and simmer about 10 minutes.
- Add Bourbon and cook until the sauce is slightly reduced.
